Rapunzel runs at the Artrix from Friday 4 to Wednesday 30 December, 28 performances, £16 to £26 plus a £1.25 fee. Every date and time, and the dark days.

Bromsgrove’s pantomime this year is Rapunzel: The Tangled Pantomime, at the Artrix, Slideslow Drive, Bromsgrove B60 1GN, running Friday 4 December to Wednesday 30 December 2026. It is on sale now.

There are 28 public performances across the run, plus 13 separate school shows. The theatre’s own booking system is the only place the full schedule appears, and it is set out in full below.

Prices

Ticket Price band
Adult £16.00 to £26.00
Child £16.00 to £22.00

Both bands carry £1.25 per ticket on top, and the Artrix states its prices include VAT. The theatre publishes a band, not a per-date price, so the cheapest seats are not identified in advance: expect the low end on the opening weekend and midweek, and the top of the band on the days between Christmas and New Year.

The producers put tickets out unusually early this year and said why. Their reasoning, on the show’s own site: “based on the last 20 years of pantomime ticket sales at Artrix, the families and groups that leave it to the last minute struggle to get the dates they prefer or struggle to get seats together in a large group.”

That is already showing. On 5 September the booking system flagged “Only 2 tickets left!” against Saturday 12 December at 12pm, three months out.

  • Mon 28: 12pm, 5pm
  • Tue 29: 12pm, 5pm
  • Wed 30: 12pm, 5pm

Three things in that list are easy to miss.

There is no panto in Bromsgrove after 30 December. Most regional pantomimes run into the first week of January. This one stops before New Year’s Eve, so there is no between-Christmas-and-New-Year week to fall back on beyond the 30th.

Christmas Eve has two shows, at 11am and 4pm, both earlier than the usual pattern. Christmas Day and Boxing Day are dark.

Mondays to Thursdays in the first three weeks are dark for the public. There is nothing on 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17 or 21 December for a general audience, because those weekdays are given over to schools.

School performances

The school shows are a different production: shorter, with more audience participation. They start on 9 December and the producers said in early September that they were already about half sold.

Date Times
Wednesday 9 December 9.45am and 1pm
Thursday 10 December 9.45am and 1pm
Friday 11 December 11am
Tuesday 15 December 9.45am and 1pm
Wednesday 16 December 9.45am and 1pm
Thursday 17 December 9.45am and 1pm
Friday 18 December 11am

For anyone bringing a coach, the producers make a point of the Artrix having a large car park with no height restriction.

The show, and who is in it

Rapunzel is produced by Halftail Productions LLP, which also runs the show’s own site at bromsgrovepanto.com. The Artrix itself is operated by BCA, registered charity 1204923.

The synopsis, from the theatre: “Locked away in a tower, way up in the sky, past the clouds, past the birds, past even the Wi-Fi signal, lives a princess plotting her escape.”

No cast has been announced. The production’s cast page currently reads “come back soon to meet our amazing cast” and says only that the performers are professional. Nor has the theatre published a running time, an age guidance, or any relaxed, captioned, audio described or BSL performance. If those appear they normally do so in late autumn, and this page will be updated.

Booking and getting there

  • Book online through the Artrix, which uses PatronBase
  • Box office 01527 361 324
  • Box office hours: Mondays 10am to noon and 6pm to 8pm, closed bank holidays; Tuesday to Thursday 10am to noon; Friday noon to 2pm; Saturday 10am to noon

One inconsistency to be aware of. The Artrix website gives its box office address as boxoffice@artrixbromsgrove.co.uk, while the footer of its own booking system gives boxoffice@artrix.co.uk. Use the phone number if an email bounces.

The Artrix sits off Slideslow Drive on the eastern edge of town with its own car park, so the town centre car parks are not usually needed for a show here. If you are pairing the panto with a day in town, parking in Bromsgrove covers the council tariffs, and Bromsgrove roadworks and travel covers what is shut.
