The average Bromsgrove home fell £2,443 in August to £332,683, though it is still up 1.2% on the year. Private rents average £998 a month, up 2.6%.
The average home in the Bromsgrove district was worth £332,683 in August 2026. That is £2,443 less than in July, a fall of 0.7 per cent in a month.
Over the year, prices are still up. August’s average is £3,882 higher than August 2025, a rise of 1.2 per cent. The figures come from the UK House Price Index, published by HM Land Registry on 21 October.
The same day, the Office for National Statistics put the district’s average private rent at £998 a month in September. That is up 2.6 per cent on a year earlier, a slower rise than across the West Midlands.
The month in numbers
- August 2026: £332,683
- July 2026, revised: £335,126, down £481 from the £335,607 first published
- August 2025: £328,801
- The record: still November 2025, now revised to £336,289
August sits £3,606 below that November peak. The annual rise has slowed too. In July it was 2.2 per cent on the revised figures, against 1.2 per cent now.
The latest month is always the least settled. Sales take weeks to reach the Land Registry, so August’s figure will be revised as more of them are registered. Last month we reported June’s record being revised away.
Third in Worcestershire
Bromsgrove’s 1.2 per cent rise was the third fastest of the six Worcestershire districts. It matched the West Midlands region and beat both the county and England.

| Malvern Hills | £349,550 | +4.3% |
| Bromsgrove | £332,683 | +1.2% |

Across England, Bromsgrove’s rise ranked 128th of the 295 local authority areas. 107 of those areas fell over the year.

What it means for you
- If you are selling, August’s average is down on July but up on last year. One month’s fall in a provisional figure is not a trend.
- If you own a flat, the average fell 1.5 per cent on the year, the only type to fall.
- If you are buying, Bromsgrove is about £16,900 cheaper than Malvern Hills on average, and about £10,500 dearer than Wychavon.
- If you rent, the average rose by less than in the rest of the region. A two-bedroom home averages £904 a month.
For the price of a specific house, the district average will not help. Every completed sale is free to search by street on the HM Land Registry Price Paid service. Our Bromsgrove house prices page breaks prices down by village.
The UK House Price Index is a mean average, not a median, and it is adjusted for the mix of homes sold. It is not the price of a typical house, and it is not comparable with asking prices on the property portals.
